Twenty years ago, Tony Egan's sister went to America. Nobody ever heard of her again. But now, the message of her death arrives in her town of birth. Only days later, her only son Chad arrives, too. Obviously, his mother took a black husband. Soon, Chad falls for Aislin, who has a bit of a crush on him too. But there is an old conflict going on between her father and Chad's uncle. This conflict resurfaces and begins to draw circles, wider and wider.

At the end of 1945, a young boy is taken to a brothel by his uncle in order to "become a man." Through the evening's bittersweet encounters, he discovers the adult world in all its cruelty.

The action of this film takes place in the past. An unknown gentleman arrives in a small European city, who leads a trained monkey with him. The monkey is dressed in clothes. The gentleman announces that the monkey is his nephew. It becomes clear that the gentleman is very rich. He bequeaths his wealth to his monkey nephew. All the residents who have unmarried daughters are in a hurry to win the heart of the monkey nephew. But the gentleman mocked them. He leaves,and the monkey stays. Angry people lock her in a cage. Two children let her out.

On a random night of summer 1998, two good friends from a boarding school travel through time to 15 years ahead by pure happenstance. In this magical tale which is also a social commentary, the two children seek to understand the world and themselves in 2013 through their innocent minds, and perhaps learn the first lesson on the passage of time.
